I am Mike Yates & on behalf of Eugene C. Yates Insurance Agency & its staff, I’d like to sincerely thank you for the opportunity to sell you insurance.

I’d like to start off by providing you with a brief history of Eugene C. Yates Insurance. My grandfather founded the agency in 1946, while he also owned a construction company and a real-estate company. He would build your home, sell it to you, and then insure it. Many members of my family worked in the business throughout the years – including my father, uncle and myself. After serving in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years, I began my career in the family business as an agent in 1990. Actually, I worked in the office through my teenage years as a janitor – including vacuuming, cleaning ashtrays and sanitizing toilets. I worked for several years under the guidance of my grandfather, father and uncle. It wasn’t always easy – family business never is – although I would never trade this invaluable experience for anything.

The many years of knowledge were not just given to me – I had to earn it through my own career experience. Just as well, the business itself wasn’t given to me. My dad sold it to me at 12% interest and I am glad that he did because I value it more than anyone knows. The Yates legacy places high value on the family history, reputation, relationships with our clients, insurance companies, employees and our bright future. This has provided me with an immeasurable amount of appreciation.

My staff and I understand great customer service and business relationships start with a friendly smile. We have been in business since 1946 – all of those years in the Sacramento area and the surrounding areas including El Dorado, Placer, Yolo and San Joaquin counties. We have extensive knowledge and experience with insuring many different types of property and casualty risks. Starting with our friendly, considerate and professional insurance agents, we maintain the reputation by being proactive and reaching out to our clients regularly – calling out to them to keep their premiums competitively priced and in an active status. Yates Insurance Agency has been very fortunate to have agent appointments with several A rated California Admitted Insurance companies (including Travelers, Safeco, the Hartford, Mercury, CSE, Allied & many more). These solid professional relationships make our hands-on approach to insurance needs more easily fulfilled. With the combination of great customer service, an efficient insurance agency, competitive rates and strong business relationships, we continue to grow, year after year.

Our main source of business originates from happy and loyal clients referring friends and family our way. In order to keep up with our growing business, we’ve adapted to the new digital age. Everyone needs to be taken care of immediately – and I am including clients, carriers, financial institutions and title companies. All the agents are up to date with Docusign – the electronic signature program, which gives us the ability to process quickly and more efficiently. Our offices are all interconnected with the online RingCentral phone system which allows us to access our voicemail, answer and make outgoing phone calls from anywhere in the world. Our files are all securely stored on the Applied Agency Management system which can also be accessed easily at anytime by our licensed agents.
